Associate Estimator – Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing

About the role

Power Design is seeking an Associate Estimator to support its Change Order department. The successful candidate will help produce accurate electrical, mechanical and plumbing estimates for multifamily and commercial projects, ensuring timely and competitive pricing.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a regionally‑aligned estimating team, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Research market rates and generate complete, competitive pricing packages.
• Perform lighting fixture, mechanical equipment, terminal device and plumbing fixture counts by reviewing construction drawings.
• Communicate with clients to define project scope, address deficiencies and negotiate pricing.
• Partner with construction teams to transition awarded projects smoothly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field (preferred) or 3‑4 years of relevant field experience.
• At least 1 year of estimating experience in electrical, mechanical or plumbing disciplines.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using estimating software, preferably Accubid.
