Senior Counsel – Regulatory Compliance

About the role

The Senior Counsel, Regulatory Compliance will join Emerson’s Legal Department to provide actionable legal support on product security and cybersecurity matters. You will work closely with business units and global teams to embed compliance into product development and lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units and world areas to design and implement policies, processes and training for product cybersecurity and related regulatory requirements.
• Monitor, analyze and advise on global technology and cybersecurity laws, standards (e.g., ISO, NIST) and industry developments that affect Emerson.
• Provide counsel to Product Management and Engineering on compliance, governance and cyber‑risk throughout the product lifecycle, including vulnerability and incident management.
• Manage legal aspects of product‑related cybersecurity escalations and coordinate responses to data‑protection inquiries, regulatory requests and customer questionnaires.
• Ensure internal compliance with policies, standards and procedures, and support corporate policy implementation across divisions.
• Communicate complex legal and technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO standards related to cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with the NIST cybersecurity framework.
• Understanding of product cybersecurity and vulnerability management.
• Experience with data‑protection regulations and incident response processes.
