About the role
As a Security Architect II you will join Akamai’s Security Operations Center to detect, analyze and mitigate sophisticated cyber‑attacks in real time. You will protect high‑value web applications and APIs for enterprise customers such as banks and e‑commerce platforms, ensuring minimal disruption for end users.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement mitigation strategies using Akamai products and platform to stop live attacks.
- Perform advanced threat analysis on digital properties, web applications and APIs.
- Provide consultative guidance and attack‑mitigation recommendations to customers and internal teams.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, coordinating rapid response actions.
Required profile
- 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or related fields.
- High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Hands‑on experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Streamlit or Dash for rapid prototyping.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON parsing, Python programming and SQL querying.
- Proficiency with Git, Jira, Confluence, GitHub and clustering techniques for anomaly detection.
- Knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP, OWASP Top 10 and Layer 7 security controls.
