Digital Project Manager, Digital Operations

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Digital Project Manager to lead digital transformation initiatives across its manufacturing operations. You will work closely with operations, engineering, IT and external partners to deploy automation, IoT, and data‑management solutions that boost efficiency and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead digital projects that optimize manufacturing processes, including automation, IoT integration, and Digital Performance Management platforms.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with clear goals, timelines, and milestones.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, IT teams and vendors to ensure successful implementation.
• Analyze existing processes, identify digitization opportunities, and implement solutions that reduce downtime and improve quality.
• Create roadmaps and playbooks for each transformation initiative and continuously improve project execution.
• Identify risks such as integration challenges and data security, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Track KPIs (production efficiency, system uptime, cost savings) and report outcomes to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 + years of project management experience in digital manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies.

• Proficiency with Jira.
• Proficiency with Confluence.
