About the role

This full‑time position is based at our Heredia site (Zona Franca Metropolitana) and focuses on the preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing and facilities equipment. The engineer will coordinate design, planning, construction and ongoing upkeep of machinery, buildings and cleanrooms while ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures to meet FDA requirements.
• Control, evaluate and improve preventive maintenance programs for high equipment reliability.
• Supervise and guide Facilities and Maintenance Technicians and contractors.
• Generate validation protocols, intrusion plans, and saving projects (VIPs).
• Analyze and resolve NCRs and other quality documentation.
• Support the EHS department by ensuring life‑safety systems (sprinklers, fire detection, extinguishers, evacuation plans) are operational.
• Review and apply all applicable regulations (FDA, ISO, Costa Rican laws).
• Apply Lean techniques to continuously improve facilities operations.
• Develop new suppliers and manage spare‑parts inventory.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to follow and improve regulatory documentation and procedures.
• Experience coordinating projects and supervising technical staff.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with the Facilities/Maintenance Superintendent and EHS teams.
