Manager, SOX PMO, Business Process

About the role

GitLab is looking for a Manager to lead the SOX PMO Business Process function. You will own the design, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of SOX controls across key business processes, partnering closely with the IT SOX PMO to ensure new systems are compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary subject‑matter expert for assigned SOX business processes.
• Partner with the IT SOX PMO to assess new applications and controls for compliance readiness.
• Assist with the annual SOX risk assessment, evaluating process risks and control coverage.
• Monitor emerging risks and update controls, documentation, and expectations as business needs evolve.
• Coordinate and lead SOX business walkthroughs with control owners and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain business control documentation and support remediation efforts.
• Identify and drive automation opportunities to reduce manual work and improve control reliability.

Required profile

• Experience leading SOX compliance initiatives or similar regulatory programs.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and control effectiveness.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders.
• Hands‑on execution style combined with program‑leadership capabilities.
