Vice President, Issue Quality Control and Engagements Lead

About the role

The Vice President, Issue Quality Control and Engagements Lead will coordinate and manage issues with key stakeholders to ensure Citi maintains compliance and remediates findings from internal and external reviews, as well as self‑identified issues.

Key responsibilities

• Execute quality control activities across the full issue lifecycle in line with Issue Management, Quality Controls and Quality Assurance procedures.
• Assess issue pervasiveness, challenge severity, impact and assist management in drafting risk‑driven observations.
• Challenge management’s proposed remediation approaches to ensure root‑cause focus, sustainability and compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
• Support stakeholders in designing and developing corrective action plans for identified control gaps or failures.
• Leverage lessons learned from prior IQC reviews to improve remediation quality and timely issue closure.
• Establish a network of key stakeholders in control functions to enable effective collaboration during non‑regulatory engagements.
• Engage internal audit, operational risk, ICRM and other functions on audit/exam scoping, bringing in subject‑matter experts as needed.
• Advise the business throughout the review/exam lifecycle on scope determination, response drafting and challenge response adequacy.
• Create and maintain a centralized view of progress for planned non‑regulatory engagements and communicate status to senior management.
• Design and deploy reporting capabilities to ensure timely communication of engagement scope, business impact and escalation of concerns.
• Utilize analytics tools to assess issue themes and trends.
