Senior Sustaining R&D Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Sustaining R&D Engineer at Philips, you will lead product and process improvement projects for existing medical devices, aiming to reduce cost, boost manufacturing efficiency, and resolve quality issues. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with regulations and corporate policies while delivering sustainable enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate design control from requirements through verification, validation and manufacturing implementation.
• Evaluate, propose and implement product design and manufacturing changes.
• Lead sustaining engineering activities for commercial products, including statistical analysis and root‑cause investigations.
• Design and execute experiments and DOE studies, and develop related technical documentation.
• Provide guidance to technicians and operators, and support technical design reviews and DHF updates.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Biomedical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Experience with manufacturing engineering, process validation and design control.
• Strong analytical, organizational and project leadership abilities.
• Fluent in Spanish and proficient in written and spoken English.
