Senior AWS Systems Administrator

About the role

Coforge is looking for an experienced Senior AWS Systems Administrator to own and evolve its production cloud environment. You will ensure the platform is secure, highly available, and optimized for performance while supporting critical healthcare workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, optimize, and maintain AWS infrastructure across multiple accounts, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and high availability.
• Design and support complex networking architectures, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, DNS routing, and failover strategies.
• Administer identity and access management (IAM, SSO, role‑based access, federation) following least‑privilege principles for HIPAA/PHI‑sensitive environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health with CloudWatch, handle incident response, and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar tools and automate operational workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands‑on AWS administration in production environments with ownership of technical decisions.
• Experience managing HIPAA/PHI‑sensitive workloads and regulated cloud environments.

Required skills

• AWS core services (IAM, VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Route 53, CloudWatch, RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL).
• Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK).
• Linux system administration and deep networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, IPsec).
• Monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident troubleshooting workflows.
• On‑call operations and incident response experience.
• Automation scripting (Python, Bash, TypeScript).
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2) and security best practices.
