Preschool Teacher – Bilingual (English/Spanish)

About the role

Ballena Academy is seeking a passionate preschool teacher to join its bilingual PK‑12 community in Costa Ballena, Costa Rica. You will nurture young learners aged 2‑5, fostering curiosity, language development, independence, and social‑emotional growth in a warm, joyful classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging environment where children explore through storytelling, music, art, and hands‑on activities.
• Support bilingual language development in English and Spanish through rich vocabulary experiences.
• Encourage independence by guiding age‑appropriate self‑help skills.
• Promote empathy, self‑regulation, and friendship among students.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to uphold the school’s values of kindness, effort, curiosity, and authenticity.

Required profile

• Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience teaching or caring for children ages 2‑5.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Legal work status in Costa Rica.
• Patience, warmth, and a genuine love for early childhood development.
