About the role
The Payroll Team Leader is responsible for delivering high‑quality payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant processing across multiple markets. This role combines operational oversight, process improvement and team leadership to support the organization’s payroll function.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day payroll activities, guaranteeing that all tasks in the payroll cycle are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Plan and execute annual and year‑end payroll activities, including data collection for audits and compliance checks.
- Maintain and review payroll controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, SOPs and SOX requirements.
- Implement new payroll controls, procedures and policies as needed, and drive automation and transformational projects.
- Coordinate with Finance, Incentives, Payroll Vendors and other stakeholders on payroll‑related matters.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives, monitor payroll metrics and KPIs, and report performance to senior leadership.
- Support, coach, hire and develop payroll team members, conducting regular performance conversations.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading payroll operations in a multi‑country environment.
- Strong knowledge of global payroll laws, regulations and best practices.
- Ability to implement and monitor internal controls and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Demonstrated capability to drive process improvements and automation.
