About the role

Medtronic is seeking an entry‑level Machine Operator I to support manufacturing operations in its medical device production facilities. The role involves operating light‑duty bench and floor‑type machine tools, performing set‑ups, adjustments and routine maintenance, and ensuring product quality according to defined tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Operate light‑duty bench‑ or floor‑type machine tools such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills, punch presses, power brakes, shears and saws.
• Set up machining equipment, make adjustments, and carry out routine maintenance.
• Verify work dimensions using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to meet close tolerances.
• Monitor and record quality data following statistical process control or other quality procedures.
• Report any machine malfunctions or abnormalities and assist in corrective actions.
• Support production activities in a continuous processing environment, including assembly, packaging and inventory handling as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma (Bachillerato en educación media).
• At least 1 year of experience in the medical industry.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work under close supervision.
• Basic understanding of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to learn operation of numerically controlled (CNC) equipment.

Required skills

• Operation of lathes and power mills.
• Operation of extruding machines, drills, punch presses, power brakes, shears and saws.
• Basic CNC (numerically controlled) machine handling.
• Use of gauges, jigs and fixtures for dimensional verification.
• Routine machine set‑up and adjustment.
• Basic preventive maintenance of machine tools.
