Maintenance Technician I

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an entry‑level Maintenance Technician I to support manufacturing and plant equipment. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing production assets while ensuring reliable operation in a medical‑device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and conduct basic troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, and manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.
• Utilize hand, power, and test tools to service mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Assist in redesigning optical, vacuum, electrical, or mechanical subsystems for existing equipment.
• Estimate labor and material costs and prepare requisitions as needed.

Required profile

• Technical degree in electromechanics, mechatronics, or industrial electronics (or equivalent technical training).
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Minimum education: ninth grade; high school diploma preferred.
• No prior work experience required; 2 years of experience is desirable.
• Basic English proficiency.
• Familiarity with corrective/reactive maintenance and the medical‑device industry is a plus.
