HW Design Engineer / PCB Designer

About the role

Avionyx is building a new electronics design team to develop test equipment and future flight hardware for aerospace applications. As a HW Design Engineer / PCB Designer you will collaborate with software, systems, mechanical and other electrical engineers to create reliable electronic solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test and bring‑up electronic equipment according to defined specifications, ensuring functionality, performance and reliability.
• Support software development for hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
• Own the design process, making key component and PCB layout decisions.
• Participate in electrical system architecture trade studies.
• Perform supporting analyses such as load and thermal analysis.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace, automotive or medical electronics.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Electrical fundamentals and best practices.
• Power conversion (linear and switching regulators).
• High‑speed digital design and layout.
• Signal conditioning and conversion (ADCs, filters).
• Discrete semiconductor design (FETs, BJTs, diodes).
• Schematic capture and PCB design using ECAD tools (Altium Designer).
• Electrical component selection and hands‑on hardware debugging.
• Design‑for‑reliability methods (DFMEA, fault trees).
• Design for high EMI and harsh environments.
• MCAD competency (CATIA, Autodesk, SolidWorks).
• Embedded Linux, Python and C++ programming.
