Fullstack PHP Developer (Magento 2 + WordPress) – Remote

About the role

Bluelight is looking for a versatile Full Stack PHP developer to take technical ownership of client e‑commerce and content platforms. You will work remotely across Latin America, ensuring the stability and performance of Magento 2 installations while integrating and maintaining WordPress sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise existing Magento 2 codebases, addressing technical debt.
• Develop, customise, and support WordPress themes and plugins.
• Implement seamless deployments and manage staging‑to‑production workflows.
• Integrate Magento and WordPress with external ERPs, CRMs, and marketing tools via REST/GraphQL.
• Monitor and improve database performance, caching layers and search services.
• Apply security best practices, including PCI compliance and platform hardening.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with Magento 2.x and WordPress.
• Strong background in modern PHP (8.x) and object‑oriented design.
• Ability to audit, inherit and optimise legacy code.
• Solid understanding of MySQL, Redis, Varnish and Elasticsearch.
• Frontend competence with HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS) and JavaScript; Magento‑specific stacks a plus.
• Experience with Git, Linux server environments (Nginx/Apache) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security‑first mindset; familiarity with PCI standards and platform patching.
