Frontend Engineer (GIS & Data Visualization)

About the role

We are looking for a Mid‑to‑Senior Frontend Engineer who will design and build intuitive, data‑driven web applications that visualise operational and geospatial information. The role focuses on creating interactive maps, dashboards and accessible user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance large‑scale interactive maps with layer controls, colour‑coding and manual overrides.
• Build and maintain operational dashboards that turn complex data into actionable visualisations.
• Implement WCAG 2.1 AA compliant frontend experiences and support accessibility testing.
• Integrate geospatial and location‑based data into responsive, user‑friendly map applications.
• Participate in beta feedback cycles, defect resolution, UI improvements and application hardening.
• Collaborate with the delivery team through documented designs, code reviews, Git‑based workflows and ticketed development processes.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to increase efficiency and code quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong written and spoken English and ability to maintain at least 4 hours overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
• Experience working in structured delivery environments with documented designs and ticket‑based workflows.

Required skills

• Modern JavaScript frameworks – preferably React or Angular.
• Web mapping libraries such as ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, MapLibre, Leaflet or Google Maps.
• Data‑visualisation and dashboard development.
• Implementation of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Git and collaborative development workflows.
• AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code).
