Data Engineer – Analytics & Automation

About the role

You will work cross‑functionally across multiple Cisco organizations, leading the transformation toward a data‑driven digital enterprise. The role focuses on developing analytic models and intelligent automation that enable personalized experiences throughout the customer lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support for building integrated data foundations that power business intelligence and machine learning across Cisco platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time solutions that meet scalability, performance, and usability standards.
• Offer hands‑on technical support for development, research, and quality‑assurance testing.
• Design and implement pipelines to ingest, transform, index, aggregate, and visualize data, as well as expose APIs for internal and partner consumption.
• Analyze structural requirements for data storage solutions and ensure data completeness.

Required profile

• Graduate or final‑year student in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Legal right to work in the target country without visa sponsorship.
• Strong focus on enabling data‑driven decision making and optimizing marketing investments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with relational and cloud databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools, especially Tableau.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and development for data integration.
• Understanding of security best practices, including data encryption and secure data transfer.
